Slieve Carron Pullough Hike (Includes lunch)
Wednesday, August 7th and Thursday, August 8th

The Slieve Carron Pullough Hike will take you through the heart of the Burren.

NOTE: This is for experienced hikers with a good level of fitness, and is considered a moderate level hike. It will be approximately 7 km in distance. The hike duration will depend on the group and their varying abilities, but we estimate it will be between 3 and 4 hours.

Planned Itinerary

8:15     Load coaches for departure at 8:30am.

9:45

  • After a scenic drive through the Burren landscape arrive at Slieve Carro Pullough.
  • Welcoming tea/coffee with scones and brown bread.

The landowners, Oliver and Collette will guide than the group up the 70 Acres Mountain at Slieve Carron.

Oliver is extremely passionate about farming on the Burren and has guided several groups over the years to witness the "extraordinary" botanical display in full bloom—seeing Arctic, Alpine and Mediterranean wildflowers.

His passion and interest in both farming and nature are clear, and the tour will benefit hugely from his firsthand experience of practical conservation.

Oliver has won "National farming for Nature Ambassador 2019", and his family have been farming the Burren Mountain for over 100 years.

"Prince Charles" now "King Charles" visited this majestic Burren Mountain on May 19th, 2015.

When the Prince arrived, he was greeted by Oliver and his father, Pat, who guided him in how to build a wall in The Burren.

There will be plenty of breaks along the way to the top of the mountain, so it might be a nice idea to bring a few snacks and water. Then once everyone has reached the top, the group will take a break, and when everyone is ready all will walk down together.

Tea/coffee and light lunch afterwards (included in the price).

15:30     Depart for Ennis town and a little pub visit!
