KILLARNEY DAY TOUR

Offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (August 6th, 7th, and 9th)

Planned Itinerary

7:30     Load coaches for departure at 7:45 sharp.

8:15     Arrive at the village of Adare which was founded in the 13th century and visit the Heritage Centre Exhibition of the history of Adare. Take the opportunity to photograph the thatched cottages and English style cottages in the village.  Adare is home to the Desmond Castle, Augustinian Priory, Franciscan Abbey and Trinitarian Abbey and is host to the Ryder Cup in 2027.

8:45      Depart Adare for Killarney, County Kerry home of the MacGillicuddy Reeks mountain range and the Lakes of Killarney.

10:15     Arrive in Killarney, unload coaches at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

10:30     Load Jaunting Cars (horse & buggy) at Deenagh Lodge for a ride through Killarney National Park to the 15th Century Ross Castle located on Lough Lein—the lake of learning. 

11:30     Depart Ross Castle for Muckross House & Gardens located on Muckross Lake. Self -guided tour of 19th century Victorian Muckross House.  

12:30     Lunch on your own at the Muckross House Garden Restaurant with a stroll around Muckross Gardens and the Lakes of Killarney. The craft workshops include Muckross Pottery, Muckross Weaving and Muckross Conservation Bookbinding who all adjoin the Muckross Craft Shop.

14:00     Leave Muckross House and visit Killarney town where you will have time to stroll through the streets, view the art galleries, visit a pub or do a little shopping. 

15:30     Depart Killarney for the return journey to Limerick city. 

17:30     Arrive in Limerick city. 


What to Bring:     
Participants are advised to wear warm clothes – layers work best. We suggest a sweater, rain jacket, jeans or pants and comfortable shoes. Temperatures may vary with rain a possibility.
