- Arrive at Kilkenny Castle
- Founded soon after the Norman conquest of Ireland, the castle has been rebuilt, extended, and adapted to suit changing circumstances and uses over a period of 800 years. Kilkenny Castle is largely a Victorian remodelling of the thirteenth century defensive castle and is one of the very few buildings in Ireland that can boast a longer history of continuous occupation.
- You will experience the grand country house and walk through its fifty acres of rolling parkland with mature trees and an abundance of wildlife. Among the amazing views to take in include a formal terraced rose garden, woodlands and a manmade lake, which was added in the nineteenth century. The castle’s history is associated with the fortune and decline of the Marshal & Butler families.

After the tours, lunch is in Kilkenny with free time on your own.
