AGENDA
The theme of the conference is Offshore Wind: Building a New Irish Industry.
The Conference will take place over two days and, with this theme in mind, look at what must happen in the coming months and years to ensure that we not only deliver the 5 GW set out in the Programme for Government but that we create a thriving new industry which attracts investment, creates jobs and revitalises Ireland’s coastal communities.
Day 1 – Tuesday 21st September – Following our keynote in the morning, with Leo Varadkar, Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, the first session will look at how we can design an industrial strategy for offshore wind energy, which will be followed by a discussion on what we hope will by then be a much clearer understanding of our new offshore planning system.
Day 2 – Wednesday 22nd September – The second day of the conference will also begin with some keynote contributions, including Eamon Ryan, Minister for Climate Action, Communications Networks and Transport before a panel discussion on the new systems for grid connections and route-to-market for offshore renewables. The conference will conclude with an examination of the exciting new potential for floating offshore wind and hydrogen to play their part in our decarbonised energy future.
